Three female workers die in Ekona shooting

The death toll in the early Thurday shooting in Ekona near Muyuka, South West Regions of Cameroon has risen to three. At least five people who were onboard the truck transporting the Supermont workers have been injured.”Total was 8 girls being touched by the bullets , 2 died at same spot, one just died at the hospital now making up 5 undergoing treatment in Buea hospital,” a reliable source told Mimi Mefo Info.Their corpses have been taken to the mortuary.Locals around Muyuka are still in shock after the shootings.Ambazonian fighters attacked the escort taking workers of water-producing company , Source du pays (Supermont) to work.Today’s attack comes after a long period of few skirmishes between Ambazonian fighters and the Cameroon military in the area. While some are blaming the workers for accepting to be escorted by security forces attracting attention from Ambazonian fighters, others say the escort was not serious, as very few soldiers were sent to accompany the workers. The identities of the victims have not yet been revealed.
