Three suspected Improvised Explosive Device planters have been arrested by the forces of law and order in Kumba South West Region.
They were arrested and on Tuesday, August 23, presented to the press by the Senior Divisional Officer for the Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, at the Divisional Office of Kumba.
Authorities believe the three are responsible for the recent planting of explosives in different points of the town including like ‘Platinum’ and ‘Speed break’ snacks.
Amongst the three is a 21-year-old ex-Amba fighter, a 26-year-old ex-convict, and their 25-year-old friend.
Addressing the press, the Meme SDO saluted the efforts of the forces of law and order.
“Congratulations to the forces of law and order,” he said. “Cameroon’s state authority remains available to secure the population and to send out of Meme all those bad people who think they can pass through disturbance of social order,” he added.
He concluded by encouraging youths to endeavor to promote responsible behaviors and contribute to nation-building.
