Business persons at the Tiko main market in the South West Region gathered Wednesday, January 17, for a united prayer session that was aimed to denounce supposed witchcraft in the market.

The initiative, led by Patience Foteh, the President of the Tiko Market Management Committee, took the form of an ecumenical service held at the entrance of the market.

The primary goal of this gathering was to engage in a spiritual battle against what the market president referred to as “evil forces” operating within the market premises.

The event witnessed a substantial turnout of traders and featured moments of praise, worship, and warfare prayers.

Spiritual leaders from various Christian denominations, including the Catholic Church, the Anglican Church, and Full Gospel, among others, were present to guide the congregation in their spiritual endeavors.

Speaking to the press, Patience Foteh shared the motivation behindorganisingg the cleansing service.

“As a Christian, I believe in the God of heaven. He laid it in my heart that we should not rely on ourselves, but we should call on him to come and help us in this market.”

Foteh further explained that the event aimed to seek divine intervention and liberation from perceived malevolent forces affecting the Tiko market.

The initiative, seen as the first of its kind, received positive feedback from Asumu Emmanuel, the market master of the Tiko main market.

“I already feel the changes that this big prayer session has brought. We felt the impact, and the ambiance was wonderful. Spiritually, we may not be able to see it, but we will surely see it physically in the future,” Asumu said.

Concluding the service, Patience Foteh reassured traders that similar events would be organized in the future to address spiritual concerns and foster a positive atmosphere within the market.
