The Commissioner of Police for Tiko, Wepnje Alfred Nchanji, has died on Thursday in what close ones describe as “mysterious”.
The man, popularly called Rashman, complained of stomach pains two days ago, bowed out even before proper check-up was made on him.
“We suspect that something must be wrong somewhere. This man was Commissioner for everyone. He loved his community and stood against activities of some Donga Mantung Elites. I remember how he strongly opposed to some actions carried out in his village,” a close source said.
Other unconfirmed sources suggest his death was masterminded by some “invisible hands”. Commissioner had been very vocal on Ngarbuh-Ntunbaw killings and recent happenings in the restive Anglophone regions, and this has not been well perceived within his circle, Mimi Mefo Info was hinted.
His corpse has been deposited at the Buea Regional Hospital mortuary.
