The late Senator Barrister Kemende Henry has been posthumously raised to the rank of Knight in the order of Valor. This was in Balikumbat today, prior to his burial. The politician was slain weeks back my unknown armed men in Bamenda, North West Region.




Construction works on the rail way between Mballam and Kribi will kick off in the not too distant future. Today, a partnership contract of the construction of the railway linking Mballam to the Port of Kribi was signed between private contractors and government. Municipal authorities in Douala have sent packing roadside vendors from the Ancien Total New Bell neighborhood. The Douala 2 Divisional Officer revealed that the demolition of their structures was intended to instill order in that part of the town. Hundreds of traders affected have remained stranded, losing their properties in the demolition.


A teacher is being detained in Douala for beating a pupil to near-death. This was after videos emerged on social media of him torturing the kid using pepper, and even a hammer. He claims to have acted on the permission of the kid’s mother.



The sum of 80 million FCFA was today dished out to families of the eight persons that died at the Olembe stadium stampede during the African Cup of Nations. The money was handed by Centre governor, Naseri Paul Bea. Families of those injured in the same incident are expected to be compensated in the days ahead.


A transitional council members for the Professional Football League in Cameroon has been installed. They were installed today by Samuel Eto’o, President of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT. The council is led by Former President of the Professional Football League, General Pierre Semengué.
