South West governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai today visited Ekondo-Titi in the Ndian division where the Divisional Officer, D O, Aboloa Timothee and the mayor of the municipality , Kenneth Nanji were killed yesterday. The DO and mayor were killed alongside five others.
Some Anglophone artists are partaking in a campaign against drugs and deviant behavior in secondary schools. They visited the Bilingual Grammar School in Buea yesterday. They shared with students and urged them to remain responsible. Among them are singers and comedians.
At least 5 persons have died today in a road accident involving a pubic transport bus and a heavy-duty vehicle at Bekoko, in the Littoral Region. Witnesses say the bus collided with the truck as it tried overtaking another bus. 11 others injured in the same incident are currently being treated at the Laquintini Hospital in Douala.
Cameroon’s Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, has proceeded to seal some shops in Yaoundé he found to have inflated the prices of some goods. He made a surprise tour across several markets after reports of recent hikes in the price of several commodities. The Minister however said it was not as widespread as social media reports had revealed.
At least 4 persons have escaped death after a Gendarme jeep collided with a minibus in Yaoundé. The four injured persons are Gendarmerie officers who were inside the Jeep. The accident is said to have happened as both vehicles coming from opposite directions suddenly collided.
The police have seized some goods from several traders today at the Ndogpassi III Market in Douala. The traders are said to have occupied the roadsides and displayed their merchandise on them, causing overcrowding and traffic.
