The communion of Muslim faithfuls at sunset as they break their fast every 6:00pm is absent this year. For fear of the COVID-19 pandemic, sharing a common meal by Muslim faithful has not been done as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic.


The death toll of suspected food poisoning in Likomba, Tiko in the South West region has risen to six. Another child is reported to have died today. The victims consumed a common meal yesterday leading to the incident.


Locals in Bonaberi, Douala IV have chased elements of the firefighting unit for failing to arrive a fire incident scene on time. Contents of two shops were razed down by the fire while locals succeeded to stop the flames from spreading to other shops.


Governor Awa Fonka Augustine has been administered the COVID-19 vaccine. Launching the vaccination campaign in Bafoussam in the West region, he called on others to do same. The Sinopharm Vaccine has been distributed in all 10 regions of Cameroon.


The Astrazeneca vaccine against COVID-19 will arrive Cameroon on the 17th of April 2021, officials of the ministry of public health in Cameroon have stated. To them, the 400,000 doses will reenforce the Sinopharm vaccine already being taken by Cameroonians.


Bishops in Cameroon say they are working towards giving late Christian Cardinal Tumi a befitting burial. Opening an Episcopal Conference today in Yaounde, the president of the National Episcopal Conference, Bishop Abraham Kome said attention was being paid on the spirituality of the church.
