A technical secretariat put in place by opposition political parties to receive proposals on the revision of the electoral code has extended the deadline to April 20, 2021. Earlier slated to end on April 15th, the political party leaders say they are giving more time for Cameroonians to submit their proposals on how to modify the electoral code for a transparent election.

Edith Kah Walla, leader of the Cameroon People’s Party has expressed doubts if the regime of Paul Biya will accept a veritable electoral reform after ‘confisicating power’ for close to fourty years. She has also insisted that her political party was not invited to join the project.

A woman is being detained in Mbouda, a city in Cameroon’s West Region following the discovery of the bodies of two babies in her house. The kids, five and seven years old, witnesses say, were raped to death.

Mbemi and Nzem villages have been disconnected from each other. The bridge linking the two villages has been damaged by separatist fighters in Momo Division, North West Region of Cameroon. Locals say this is the second destruction of the bridge by fighters since the beginning of the Anglophone Crisis.

After the Littoral Region, the Minister of Public Health has launched the COVID-19 vaccination in the South West. Dr. Manaouda Malachie supervised the administration of first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Buea Regional Hospital.

Eta Bawa, player of Coton Sport of Garoua has expressed the determination of his club to triumph over JS Kabylie of Algeria next Wednesday. In a tweet today, he says “…AS Kabylie should not disturb us. We are dreaming”. Coton Sport of Garoua will take on the Algerian side on Wednesday in a crucial CAF cup match.
