Prof. James Mouangue Kobila, new chairman of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission says some members of the commission have no human rights background, thus training them is imperative. This has urged Cameroonians to question why president Paul Biya will appoint those ignorant in the human right domain to lead the body.


Newly appointed members of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission took oath of office today at the Supreme Court. It remains unclear how the commission will ensure the respect of human rights in the war torn anglophone regions, given the difficulty of operation in the regions.

The intercity passenger train linking Douala to Yaounde is set to resume trips soon. A test trip from Douala to Yaounde took place today after a long time if inactivity. The intercity train came to a halt after the Ezeka train derailment some years ago.
