Customs officials have impounded 14,000 cartons of facemasks in Douala for lack of proper certification. They further promised to carry out more of such operations to weed out non certified products.

At least 7 persons have died in a gold mine in the Kimbele locality in Batouri. The illegal gold Miners were killed as a massive landslide covered them in a former mine hole where they were searching for gold.

At least two persons have been killed in a gun attack in Babadjou subdivision, West region. They were gunned down in an attack by unknown gunmen in a bar. The West Regional Governor has visited the scene.

A commercial bike rider has been confirmed dead in Bamenda after he was shot by a military officer during a scuffle. The military had equally knocked the rider with his hilux vehicle before shooting him on the head after the biker reacted.

The Yaoundé I D.O has banned a planned protest to call for the resignation of Prime Minister Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute. The protests stem from the Covid-19 funds scandal rocking the government at the moment.

Public Health Minister, Dr. Manaouda Malachie has ordered the sealing of some offices of his ministry. The sealing comes amidst a wave of scandal caused by the unaccountability of Covid-19 funds by the Health Ministry.
