Inhabitants of Bonamoussadi neighbourhood in Douala are confident to henceforth live a peaceful life following the arrest of seven members of a gang popularly known as “microbes”. The boys were arrested this morning in possession of dangerous weapons and hard drugs. Locals say the gang has been terrorising them.


Activities have resumed in Foumbot, West region of Cameroon after a stand-off yesterday between locals and the military. Fonka Awa Augustine, governor of the West region and the Sultan of Bamoun community have called for peace. People blocked the road after setting ablaze the Court of First Instance following the death of a man in detention.


The consumption of drugs in schools remains a problem. The Douala City Council has launched a campaign against drug consumption at Lycée Polyvalent in Bonaberi, Douala. Students acted sketches to denounce the consumption of drugs. The campaign is ongoing .

The Senior Divisional Officer for Mfoudi Division in the Center region is in a process to broker peace between Yaounde City Mayor Luc Messi Atangana and mayors of subdivisional councils in the city. Recently, tension spark off as the city mayor demolished shops constructed by the Mayor of Yaounde 5. The SDO has called on officials to know their limits.

Children zero to five years in the South West are to take oral polio vaccines . Though Cameroon was recently declared a polio free country, medical officials say there is a need continue with vaccination to completely stamp out polio.
