The body of a pregnant woman has been pulled out under a truck along the national road number 3 linking Douala and Bafoussam. The accident happened around Mbanga. Witnesses say a commercial motorcycle carrying the woman got under the truck. The rider died shortly after in a hospital.

Two people have sustained injuries following an accident at a place called “Denier Porteau New Bell” in Douala. A private vehicle clashed against a truck. The accident paralysed traffic in the area.

Contrary to claims by some politicians that insecurity is now absent in anglophone regions, the convoy of the governor of the North West from Kumbo is said to have been attacked by separatist fighters.

Minister Joseph Beti Asomo chaired a security meeting today in the presence of Minister Paul Atanga Nji who doubles as secretary at the national security council. They discussed ways of tightening security in different parts of Cameroon on the eve of national day celebrations.

The Yaounde City Council has launched a campaign to get mentally deranged people off the streets of Cameroon’s capital. The Council has given the number 1510 to report cases of those with mental issues. The campaign is to address a social problem plaguing the city.

Some Cameroonians think the national commission for the promotion of bilingualism and multiculturalism has done nothing to solve the crisis since it was created. Today, three members of the commission have been awarded medals from the president of the republic. It remains unknown what they’ve accomplished to get such a recognition.
