Trending news stories in Cameroon – July 20th 2021

Muslim faithful have celebrated the feast of the sacrifice today. Despite insecurity in some parts of the country, they congregated in their respective meetup points to share with one another.


The SDO for Mezam has prohibited the circulation of bikes in Bali Sub-Division. The decision he says can be renewed after three months. It is believed the decision was taken to combat insecurity.

The Cameroon Renaissance Movement has announced a planned protest in the days ahead. The opposition party has requested a permit to protest in the nation’s capital. It remains uncertain if the protest will push through, should government reject the request.

Many have called for a police officer to be sanctioned for harrassing PCRN MP, Hon Nourane. This was during a heated exchange they had in Bafoussam today over a barricaded road.

Days after five security officers were ambushed and killed in Pinyin, North West region, government is yet to make any remark. The deaths are among many others recorded these past days owing to the armed conflict in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
