Two suspected robbers were nabbed by the elements of the Gendarmerie on August 28, 2022, in Ekounou, Yaoundé, Littoral Region of Cameroon.
The two reportedly robbed a lady, making away with her phone and a handbag, which contained the sum of 300.000 CFA, an identity card, a bank card, and other items.
The robbery was carried out on board a motorcycle.
However, one of the said robbers was identified by a witness. After investigations, the 22-year-old said to be an expatriate, was arrested.
“His interrogation made it possible to arrest his 20-year-old Cameroonian accomplice at the Nkomo neighborhood, on September 1, 2022,” indicated the National Gendarmerie.
According to the National Gendarmerie, a thorough search led to the discovery of “… the stolen telephone, about ten other stolen phones, National Identity Cards, bank cards, several handbags and bladed weapons (two knives and a razor blade) were recovered.”
The two robbers, said to be ex-convicts, were referred to the Yaounde High Court on 06 September 2022. Investigation is ongoing in order to arrest the rest of their accomplices.
