Two Die While Digging Well in Garoua


Two youngsters are reported to have died in the afternoon of Saturday March 12 in Gashiga on the outskirts of Garoua , North region while digging a well.


Officers of the firefighting department in Garoua are said to have removed the corpses of the duo after they were alerted. Soil is said to have collapsed on the duo and buried them inside the well. They were said to be in their early 20’s. The mishap was blamed on Sand from the holes they were digging.


Reports say it took firefighters at least 3 hours of continuous digging through to locate their bodies. The bodies were handed over to their respective families for burial.
