Two men arrested for reportedly stabbing pregnant woman to death

Two men who are suspected to have robbed and stabbed to death a pregnant woman at her shop in Ndokotti, Douala, have been arrested.

Police Commissioner, Essono Edou, said the two were among four bandits who attacked the woman’s shop at Ndokotti at about 8pm on Thursday, February 23.

The bandits reportedly killed the shop owner, Alice, who was pregnant at the time.

“After realizing that the victim had obtained a certain amount of money, they set up an operation with the aim of stealing it. Two went to the store while the other two were on the watch outside,” narrated the commissioner.

He went on, “They tried to seize her bag and when she tried to resist they stabbed her before leaving.”

One of those arrested, according to reports, was the pregnant woman’s neighbor, who usually went to her for help.

The two suspects, the police commissioner said, have been placed at the disposal of the public prosecutor.
