Two mistaken for Amba boys killed in Boyo

A certain Sama Amos has been laid to rest after he was allegedly shot to death by security forces in the Boyo Division, North West region.

He was shot alongside Nfini Leonard, who will be buried on Wednesday in his native Mbam village, still in Boyo.

Both men, MMI gathered were shot dead by security forces who suspected them to be members of Ambazonia separatists operating in the area. Hundreds of civilians have suffered a similar fate in the armed struggle which now in its fourth year.

Leonard a source said was “killed in front of his old mother”.

The death of the two men comes at a time when the government is insisting its forces deployed to fight separatists who have declared an independent state of Ambazonia, have remained professional in their fight against Ambazonian separatists in the North West and South West regions.

Several international bodies have called for a cease-fire as well as investigations into extrajudicial killings in the regions.
