Cameroonian-born ex-UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and Fury Tyson have come face-to-face after their kickoff press conference in London on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The presser was staged in advance of their upcoming heavyweight boxing super fight scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The two boxers threatened each other in a show-off ahead of the super fight.

Admitting that facing Nganou will not be an easy one, Fury Tyson said he is training well for the showdown.

“I’m training for 12 weeks for Francis. I need to be on my A-game because there’s more on the line now than a boxing fight,” Fury said, boasting, “If I lose to a No. 1 contender or another champion, then people would say, oh: ‘he lost to another champion.’ But if I lose to an MMA guy, I’m never going to be able to show my face in public again.”

Fury Tyson continued, “Whether the media wants to take it as a joke or not, make no mistake, Tyson Fury will leave no stone unturned, and I will come in at my fittest and strongest I’ve ever been to beat this man.”

Should Ngannou be worried?

Fury has put together a remarkable career that includes his continued reign as WBC heavyweight champion.

“The Gypsy King” was last seen finishing longtime rival Derek Chisora late last year in London.

Meanwhile, Ngannou, who is two years older than Fury at 37, vacated his UFC heavyweight title earlier this year and signed with rival promotion PFL MMA, a deal that allows “The Predator” to box between fights.

Cameroonians are highly anticipating this fight, and many are hoping it will end in Ngannou’s favour. Francis Nganou has signed a new contract with Professional Fighters League, PFL

The native of Cameroon, who moved to the United States after beginning his mixed martial arts career in France, entered the U.F.C. in 2015 and became the heavyweight champion in 2021.

Ngannou left the promotional company after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract

Following his new contract with the Professional Fighters League, PFL MMA, his ‘Smart Cage’ debut is not expected until early 2024.
