The Cameroon Football Federation has come against rumors that have been making rounds over social media that several players were expelled from the U-17 Lions squad currently preparing for the upcoming U-17 AFCON in Morocco.
Many countries in the past have often been singled out by CAF for their notoriety in fraudulently bringing in players above the 17-year age limit. Particular mention has often gone to countries like Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Ivory Coast.
While Cameroon has often equally come under the knife for the same cause, FECAFOOT has rejected news that players have been expelled as it maintains that there has been no external control on the age of players.
FECAFOOT however has confirmed that they have taken measures themselves to test players that have been called up to ensure they are within the age range. FECAFOOT has also revealed that of the total number of Footballers called up, 25 of them are eligible to play for the U-17 selection. The 25 selected players are currently at camp with daily training sessions in preparation for the upcoming AFCON tournament.
