The U23 Lions of Cameroon have been once more disqualified from the U23 African Cup of Nations after Gabon’s appeal and requalification.
The Appeal Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) made the decided to annul an earlier decision that gave Cameroon the CAF U23 AFCON place at the detriment of Gabon.
Gabon was recently eliminated from the tournament following an appeal made by Cameroon for age fraud.
Gabon had appealed a decision by the Disciplinary Committee awarding Cameroon a place, for Gabon’s administrative blunder during registration of a player.
Gabon’s disqualification paved the way for Cameroon’s U23 Lions to officially qualify for the tournament.
The decision has however been overturned today by CAF.
Cameroon has however been given ten days to appeal else they will automatically be disqualified from the tournament for good.
