Cameroon U23 Lions disqualified for AFCON
By Amina Hilda
The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced that it will be lodging another urgent appeal against the Confederation of African Football’s recent decision.
The urgent appeal follows the recent disqualification of the U23 Lions of Cameroon from the African Cup of Nations after Gabon’s appeal and requalification.
The Appeal Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to annul an earlier decision that gave Cameroon the CAF U23 AFCON place at the detriment of Gabon.
A recent statement by FECAFOOT stated that it would urgently react to CAF’s recent decision by lodging another appeal.
They were given ten days by CAF to lodge their appeal else their disqualification would be final.
