The Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda, UBa , Prof. Theresa Nkuo Akenji has said the university’s online system “has come to stay”.
Her reaction surfaced after the online system had come under scattering criticism from students whose names didn’t appear on the graduation list of the Higher Teachers Training College and the Higher Technical Teachers Training college.
The VC described the University’s online management system as a catalyst in the dissemination of knowledge in an atmosphere characterized by the covid-19 pandemic and the sociopolitical crisis rocking the region.
The online management system is a hub for the uploading and downloading of lecture materials by both lecturers and students.
The VC had insisted that at the start of the new academic year that the online management system has come to stay.
“The ministry has put up a strategy by setting up the Digital center. This means that we can benefit from expertise from different universities. Therefore, the system has come to stay”, Prof. Theresa Nkou Akenji said.
Last academic year, some students came out to blast the University on what they termed as exorbitant fees for the online system.
