A woman in her 50s has been kidnapped by unidentified men at her residence in Bamena, West region of Cameroon.
Kouagiep lysette was reportedly taken from her residence situated behind “Lycée classique de Bamena” in the night of June 28.
According to family members, the kidnappers have demanded the sum of half a million for her release.
“When she picks our calls, she says, I am here but I don’t really know where I am precisely and they are asking for 500,000” a relative disclosed.
The woman, according to sources lived with her husband at their residence prior to the incident.
Meanwhile, the villagers are said to have called for a voluntary financial contribution, in a bid to raise the required amount for her release.
