University Games: Yaounde 1 tops medal chart with 12 Gold

The University of Yaounde 1 has continued leading the medal table of the ongoing University Games, with 12 Gold, 8 Silver, and 8 Bronze on the fifth day of the competition.

The information is contained in the latest medal list published on Wednesday, May 3, by the President of the Technical Coordination Commission of the University Games.

Yaounde I is being followed by Siantou University Institute, which has 8 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze, while the University of Yaounde II holds the third position with 7 Gold, 6 Silver and 6 Bronze.

The University of Buea and the University of Bamenda, which are the only Anglo-Saxon universities participating in the competition, come in the 7th and 13th positions, respectively. While UB has 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze, UBa, on the other hand, has 4 Silver and 3 Bronze.

The University Games, which features 22 higher education institutions in Cameroon, started at the University of Ngoundere on April 29 and will end on May 6.
