Dr Nengieh Lizzie Wantchami has been appointed new Head of the Department of Journalism and mass communication at the University of Buea.
Her appointment was made public on the evening of Wednesday, November 9, 2022
by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo.
Aged 39, Dr Nengieh Lizzie Wantchami is a seasoned researcher in the field of social sciences.
Her appointment comes a few weeks after the former Head of the Department, Professor Kingsley Ngange was called up to the office of Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research and Cooperation with the Business world.
Known for her kind, gentle and subtle nature, her appointment is greatly celebrated by both current and former students of the Department of Journalism and mass communication.
Dr Lizzie, a former student of the same department rose to the ranks of HOD, once serving under the department’s founder, late Prof Enoh Tanjong as research assistant.
She went on to work with other heads of department over the years including the most recent, Dr Kingsley Ngange.
