Plane hits bike rider in Lubumbashi, DRC

In the strangest of occurrences, an air plane is reported to have hit a running bike as it landed on at the Lubumbashi airport, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

As to how it happened, the DRC Ministry of Transport has said that the plane was interrupted by the bike rider, who was crossing the runway as the “Congo Airways” landed.

Fortunately for the involved, there was no life lost.

Material damage was however incurred as the accident affected both the plane and the motorbike.

In order to avert a future risk of the same sort, the Congolese Ministry of Transport has set up a special Commission to investigate the accident, and to seek for better remedies to avoid more of such.
