President Paul Biya has returned to the country after he and his ministerial delegation spent almost 35 days abroad. Biya, whose umpteenth stay abroad was at the center of national debate comes to an end – a day ahead of a CEMAC Extraordinary Summit in Yaoundé.



At least three persons have been killed in Bali, North West Region of Cameroon after soldiers raided the village. Reports say government soldiers were hunting separatists – to clear roadblocks – but locals have testified being brutalized by the soldiers. Shops were also looted, MMI was told.



A body has been recovered from the ocean in Kribi, Cameroon’s South region. The victim is said to be a young man from Douala who embarked on a leisure trip to the town – to spend time with his aunt.


Elites of the conflicting Choa Arabs and Mousgoum ethnic groups in the Far North Region of Cameroon have agreed to bury their hatchets and embrace peace. The agreement came after a crisis meeting organized – chaired by Far North’s Governor, Midjiyawa Bakari. The conflict between the ethnic groups over a piece of land has – so far, claimed at least 30 lives.
