US based ex- Ambazonia spokesperson declares support for Biya, rubbishes planned protest at US-Africa summit

A former spokesperson for the armed separatist Ambazonia fighters based in the United States has declared total support for president Paul Biya and his policies in the resolution of Cameroon Anglophone separatist conflict.

Marshall Obi Foncha who changed gear months back and now stands in favour of one Cameroon, released an audio on the sidelines of the US-Africa summit as Separatists planned a protest against the Cameroonian president who is attending.

He formally held the position of Spokesperson of the ‘Ambazonia Self-defense Council and later leader of Ambazonia Military Forces, AMF.

Foncha who now nurses political ambitions in a ‘United Cameroon’ said as one of the ex- separatists leaders, their actions are in opposition to those of their former comrades.

“Our delegation headed by ‘Hon’ Dr Nicolas Santos Nguh and myself Marshall Obi Foncha are here to affirm and support peace and reconciliation process that has been laid on the table as a result of the Major National Dialogue,” said Foncha.

To the former Separatist spokesperson, “We are also here to support regionalism, decentralization and special status for the North West and South west regions of our ancestral homeland, Cameroon.”

“We believe that regionalism is the foundation upon which the next generation will build upon to form a more equitable socio-economic and political future for themselves.”

On the sidelines of President Biya’s presence in Washington marked by separatists’ mobilisation for a mass protest, Foncha assured a counter actions.

“We stand in opposition of our former compatriots who are planning a protest against our ancestral homeland December 14, 2022″ he said adding that, ” We will be in Washington DC to offer our full motion of support for peace and reconciliation.”

He amongst other things called on the government of the United States of America to consider their acceptance to build upon the peace mission in Cameroon which is part of conference hosted in Washington.

It should be recalled that President Paul Biya arrived Washington on Monday, December 12, 2022 and was welcomed by some ex-separatists who carried placards glorifying him as a man of peace.

The summit which started on Tuesday December 13 would end on Thursday December 16, 2022.
