Cameroon’s media house Vision 4 Television has promised to respect sanctions imposed by the National Communication Council.

This was on the occasion of a meeting between the NCC and the Anecdote group which took place at NCC headquarters on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

In a release signed July 28, 2022, by the NCC president, Joseph Chebongkeng, a dozen journalists were sanctioned by the regulatory body.

Amongst them were four journalists from the Anecdote group media house. They include Bia Nnama Christophe, Bidjang Bruno, Owona Thaddée and Seme Ekong Mathieu Berthand.

However, On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Bruno Bidjang was spotted presenting the program “Club d’Élites”, thereby defying the sanctions by the National Council of Communication.

The meeting saw the presence of some key members of the Anecdote group and the president of the National Communication Council, Joseph Chebongkeg.

“He is sorry for what has been happening in the past, and that the skies are clear. Today, National Communication Council and the groupe Anecdote,” said Joseph Chebonkeng.

Addressing the press, Amougou Belinga, CEO of the Anecdote group indicated: “… We just as every other good citizen will respect the measures taken by the National Communication Council.”

“Sanctioning is a way of correction, and they shouldn’t see it as if we are targeting the group anecdote,” added the NCC boss.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed on organizing seminars or workshops where the National Communication Council will have the opportunity to train journalists on the right path.
