WAFCON 2022 : Morocco, South Africa qualify for finals

Morocco and South Africa have both qualified for the last stage of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament after successfully ousting their various opponents.

In a match played yesterday at 6 p.m., South Africa’s Bayana Bayana defeated the Copper Queens of Zambia 1-0 after a hotly contested match, thanks to a goal by Linda Motlaho.

A narrow victory for the Bayana Bayana who won their ticket to the final of the competition.

During another encounter at 9 p.m., Morocco eliminated Nigeria in a packed Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat.

The Falcons of Nigeria had nevertheless opened the scoring in the 62nd minute of play. However, the host country did not hesitate to equalise.

The equalizer came four minutes later thanks to a goal from Mssoudy.

It was therefore during penalty shoot-outs that the Moroccan players were able to get a better part of the Falcons through a 4-5 score.

The host country is therefore expected to face South Africa on Saturday, to contest for the title of winner of the 2022 WAFCON.
