“We want the body of Samuel Wazizi”. Bar. Nkea Emmanuel

The team of lawyers for Samuel Wazizi are poised for another court session at the Buea High Court, Tuesday June 9th 2020.

Bar. Nkea Emmanuel speaking to Mimi Mefo Info on June 8th says “we will be in court tomorrow despite government’s confirmation that our client died on the 17th of August 2019. We filed a habeas corpus application which demands that Samuel Wazizi be brought to court either alive or dead. Now that government has confirmed his death, we want the body in court for burial ”

In a release from the Ministry of defence June 5th, it stated that the body of Samuel Wazizi was deposited at a mortuary in Ekounou Yaounde with the family duly informed. It remains on certain if the body of Wazizi is actually in the above mentioned mortuary.

Bar. Tamfu Richard of Cameroon bar association speaking on Equinoxe television Sunday June 7th appreciated lawyers that have been working since August 2019 to ensure justice for Wazizi. He however regrets government bad faith in the incident.
