West Region: Five family members missing after canoe capsizes

Five persons from the same family have gone missing after a canoe capsized off the Bamendjing dam reservoir in Bangourain, West Region of Cameroon.

The tragic incident occurred at midday on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in the waters which extend to the Koumengba village.

“According to our sources, this drama which occurred this Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at midday, presents a report of at least five missing people, all from the same family,” reported Cameroon Tribune.

According to the state newspaper outlet, a search has been launched by officers of the Rapid Intervention Battalion to retrieve the corpse of the victims.
