A man is reported to have broken into a police station after waiting tirelessly for the release of his National Identity Card.
The incident occurred on the evening of October 10, 2022.
Reports indicate that the man earlier arrived at the police station and asked for his Identity Card but was told by the officer on duty that it was not yet available.
“Enraged, he began throwing everything upside down. He was finally brought under control after causing numerous blunders,” indicated Human Rights Activist,” David Eboutou.
It is reported that the man in question had been waiting for the Identification documents for a good number of years now.
It should be noted that the delay in the release of National Identity Cards in Cameroon has been a normal phenomenon, with adverse effects on the citizens concerned.
Thousands of Cameroonians continue to suffer due to lack of the identification document. In most parts of the country, security officers tend to arrest those found without them, as well as extort money from those whose cards have expired.
