West Region: Two siblings die after allegedly consuming insecticide

Two siblings whose names we got as Sarah and Yowann have died after allegedly consuming insecticide.

The insecticide was given to the children by their mother who mistook the substance for Chickenpox medicine, MMI has learned.

The incident occurred in Bazou, West region of Cameroon.

The two siblings aged 6 and 7 died on February 5, 2023, in the Djeumack, a locality in Bazou.

Reports have it that the mother of the two kids with the intention of treating the latter’s chicken pox administered them insecticide which they consumed before giving up the ghost.

Security forces are have opened investigations to determine the exact cause of the deaths.
