West Region: Woman butchered to death in her sleep by daughter-in-law to be

A woman has been butchered to death while asleep by her daughter-in-law to be in Fongo-Ndeng West Region of Cameroon.

According to reports, the young lady was brought in by the now deceased lady to be presented as third wife to the her son.

Given the circumstance, the young lady had since taken up residence at the home of her mother-in-law to-be. Things turned ugly when she visited the victim’s room while the latter was asleep and hacked her to death.

Reports say the following day, she headed to the police station and admitted the crime.

When interrogated, she revealed that she committed the crime at the behest of a native doctor.

“The native doctor told me she was the reason for my sleepless nights. I was left with no option but to terminate her life,” confessed the young lady.

While the young woman is being held in the custody of the forces of law and order, the remains of the elderly woman have been taken to the mortuary, pending burial.
