A woman is behind bars for ordering the murder of her husband after the latter decided to take in a second wife.
The incident took place yesterday in Batoufam, Koung-Khi Division of the West Region of Cameroon.
According to reports, the couple had been married for over 14 years without child. However, the man, who happened to be a popular businessman had two kids before marriage.
Despite this, the husband of the woman, not being contented with his situation resorted to making plans of taking in a second wife.
The businessman was murdered infront of his house. Cries and shouts of the wife attracted the population who equally gathered to mourn over the sad incident.
Investigations by the Gendarmes however led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 20 and 21.
These suspects reportedly confessed to having carried out the act under the orders of the businessman’s wife.
According to an eyewitness, “the guys say they didn’t want to kill him because the contract was to beat him up properly and the woman herself took a lath and hit the back of the neck the last time.”
They equally disclosed they were promised the sum of 750,000 CFA if they successfully executed the plan.
Both the suspects and the woman have been placed under custody for further investigations.
