China donates foodstuff, didactics to Chantal Biya Foundation

The Chantal Biya Foundation has received donations of food and educational materials from the People’s Republic of China through its embassy in Cameroon.

His Excellency Wang Yingwu, the Chinese ambassador to Cameroon, presented the gifts.

Habissou Bidoung, the Chantal Biya Foundation’s secretary general, accepted the gift. On August 18, 2023, a ceremony in Yaoundé was held to deliver the gift, the Guardian Post Newspaper has reported.

The foundation received a consignment that included, among other things, food, computers, and cleaning supplies.

The shipment, according to Ambassador Wang Yingwu, is intended to support the foundation’s ongoing medical and charitable endeavours.
The diplomat took advantage of the occasion to welcome Chantal Biya, the first lady of Cameroon, with heartfelt congratulations from Pengs Liyuan, the first lady of the People’s Republic of China.

Wang Yingwu said that the gift from the People’s Republic of China is also a means of strengthening connections between his nation and Cameroon.

The envoy also reaffirmed his nation’s commitment to helping Cameroon in the areas of health, infrastructure, and education. Wang Yingwu said China is always available to Cameroon to strengthen the cordial and fraternal cooperation that has existed between the two nations for many years.

The Chantal Biya Foundation and the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon are continually renewing their commitment to seek a similar goal, the diplomat claimed, via the contribution.

Habissou Bidoung, for her part, thanked the diplomat for the gift and reaffirmed that the shipment would be used in the community’s best interests.

The donations, she added, will go a long way towards helping the foundation support its care for vulnerable individuals.

It is important to note that China and Cameroon have had a relationship since March 26, 1971. Both nations have worked together on infrastructure projects, agricultural projects, and health initiatives, particularly in the battle against malaria.

China’s impact on Cameroon is also evident in the fields of technology, road maintenance and building, hydroelectricity, social housing, civil aviation, mining, and telecommunication, among others. To promote their mutual growth, the two nations have signed various agreements.
