The World Health Organization says there are close to ten “top” candidates for a COVID-19 vaccine.
Their work on finding a solution for the pandemic, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said yesterday is being accelerated.
Two months back, he said getting a virus may take 12 to 18 months. This may now take a shorter time Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says, thanks to 40 heads of states, organisations and banks that have poured in the sum of 7.4 billion euros to facilitate research, treatment and testing.
The WHO has been criticised for it’s handling of the virus, with some accusing the body of neglecting Madagascar’s organic treatment.
Many have also called on authorities to highlight the herbal treatment used by Cameroon’s Bishop Samuel Kleda to treat COVID-19 patients.
Days ago, the clergyman who has a wealth of experience in herbal treatment announced that he had treated half a thousand people of the virus.
He has since received the support of many political and social groups and individuals in the country though government is yet to make any formal declaration on his treatment.
