The World Health Organisation, WHO has provided more insight into the origin of the raging coronavirus, dismissing earlier speculations that it started in a laboratory in Wuhan, China.
According to the UN health agency, the virus is unlikely to have originated from a Chinese lab.
This, it stated, after its team visited Wuhan earlier believed to have been the source. Reports say the team said the virus possibly got to humans from bats, through an intermediary animal.
The WHO team, reports add, ended their mission to China today, Tuesday, after spending several weeks in the country.
During their stay there, they are said to have visited various sites in Wuhan, where the virus was first detected.
