Who is the New Fon of Mankon?

HRH Fru Asaah Angwafor IV is the new monarch of Mankon, an influential Fondom in the Bamenda metropolis of Cameroon’s North West region.

He succeeded his father, Fon Fru Angwafor III, who went on a journey with his ancestors.



He is 49 years old. He was chosen from amongst the many children of Fo Angwafor III. The new paramount ruler of Mankon is the son of one of the wives of the previous monarch who reported left the palace 15 years ago and passed on 10 years after.



Professional life

Fon Fru Asah Angwafo IV is an educationist. He served as a teacher in GTC Oku in Bui division and was later appointed pioneer principal of Government Technical College Ntankah-,Mankon, Bamenda.

He is currently the principal of Government Technical College Nkeung in Nkwen.



Aside from being an educationist, the new Mankon Fon is also the current President of the Board of Directors of Rainbow Cooperative Credit Unions, an umbrella organization for credit unions based in Bamenda, North West region

He was coronated and presented to the public on June 7th, 2022 in a flamboyant event that showcased the best of Mankon tradition and culture. The event has wowed many across the length and breadth of Cameroon and its diaspora.


The new chieftain is the 21st reigning monarch of Mankon Fondom.

His ascension to the throne marked the end of the reign of his father Angwafor III who joined his ancestors on May 21st, 2022. He had reigned for 63 years.
