With 252 COVID-19 cases recorded today, Cameroon headed for a spike

252 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in Cameroon on Monday with two deaths and 46 recoveries, officials have told Mimi Mefo Info.

With today’s figures, there are fears that Cameroon will witness a spike in COVID-19 related deaths as numbers skyrocket.

With slightly over 8,000 cases recorded, the central African state has recorded 4,748 recoveries and at least 206 deaths.

Days ago health minister Manaouda Malachie said all the country’s ten regions were now autonomous in testing for the virus.

Experts say this is not enough as hundreds of thousands still care less about the virus.

The numbers, they say, seem to mean little to many who are seen very often disrespecting several preventive measures.
