A biology tutor, Ngumi Roland Ajah 28, nursing injury after he was shot by Amba fighters and abandoned by the state has cried for help.
Ajah was attacked on his way to teach on November 10, 2021 by separatist fighters who ended up shooting him at the level of his thighbone.
He was serving at Government Bilingual High School, GBHS Nitop Bamenda, North West region.
Unable to walk and lack of adequate finances to handle the situation, Ajah is now begging state authorities to take action to help him get proper medical attention.
The amba fighters who shot him and said to have tried in vain to get ransom from him or his family after abduction. “I was attacked on the 10th November 2021 on my way to school by separatist fighters.I was taken to an unknown destination and asked to 1,000,000 FCFA as ransom,” he told MMI.
The tutor is said to be without salary since graduating from the Higher Teacher Training College, HTTC Bambili in 2016. His service number is A-43337. This, he told MMI further.
This accounted for the reason he could not raise money to free himself and can still not take care of his difficult health condition.
“I could not afford the said amount after a deadline given,so I was shot on my right femur by the fighters in their camp”, he disclosed.
Ajah has been battling with the situation to get proper medical attention with no respond from the government he serves.
“I have undergone two femoral surgeries at Baptist Hospital Mutengene and an IM Nail has been inserted in my right femur”, he said, further lamenting that: “during my last visit to the hospital, they provided me with a minimum treatment estimate of 500,000 FCFA to remove the IM Nail from my right femur.”
With little or no means to get the most needed medical attention to survive, he is appealing to the public to come to his aid.
“I can not get this treatment with my available resources. so I am writing this request to the public for their kind consideration and support,” he appealed revealing that: “I have been abandoned by the state and the Ministry of Secondary education since the incident occured.”
He can be reached for help through the number +237678494843.
