Woman on the Run After Pouring Boiled Water On Pregnant Co-Wife In Bangante

Police in Bangante, a precinct in the West Region, are on a manhunt to fish out 27-year-old, Belkisu Ibrahim, for a premeditated act of pouring boiled water mixed with pepper on her co-spouse and pregnant lady, 32-year-old Halima Ibrahim. The melancholic incident occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024, when the two wives engaged in a bitter verbal exchange that deteriorated into physical violence.

The husband, Ibrahim Moussa, a bike rider, attested that the two wives had a misunderstanding over the use of the kitchen and it soon escalated to such barbaric action from his second wife.

“They both have never had such a misunderstanding before, they always live as a family. I was surprised to be told that my second wife had poured hot water on the first one who was heavily pregnant. They argued over who to use some kitchen items and then started trading insults. Belkisu would later pour pepper inside boiled water and throw it on Halima,” Moussa added.

Sensing danger over her barbarism, Belkisu is reported to have quickly fled the scene to an unknown destination. Meanwhile, the weeping from the second wife attracted neighbours who quickly came to her rescue and took her to the Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Bangante.

“She is presently in a very stable condition. Doctors say she suffered third degree burns but that didn’t affect her pregnancy. She is out of danger,” Moussa affirmed.

He makes a fervent appeal to Belkisu to make herself available so the matter can be put to rest, despite the flaring tensions.
