Women stage protest to call for release of Kamto from ‘house arrest’

Nearly 50 women have taken to the street to call for the release of Maurice Kamto who is currently under undeclared house arrest in Yaounde.

The protesting women were half naked, others dressed in black, demanding for the immediate release of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party, MRC leader, Prof. Maurice Kamto.

They marched towards Kamto’s Yaounde residence in Santa Barbara chanting songs including ” Release Kamto! Release Kamto”.

The protesters were led by Awasum Mispa, National Coordinator of the MRC Women’s Wing.

Security forces were present to prevent any eventuality.
