The University of Bamenda authorities made the announcement at a prayer rally organized by the female staff of the institution to launch activities leading to the celebrations of this year’s Women’s Day.
They used the prayer mass on March 1 to entrust the university community into the hands of God as they operate within the crisis.
During the prayer mass, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Theresa Nkuo Akenji requested the university women to continue praying for the return to normalcy in the region and encourage the female staff to be assiduous in the discharge of their duties.
“It doesn’t matter the level where you are, we believe that where you are and you work hard, you will get to us”, the Vice-Chancellor noted.
The coordinator of women’s day activities in the University of Bamenda, Professor Margaret Tita says they will carry out an outreach program to support patients of the hemodialysis center of the Bamenda Regional Hospital.
She disclosed that the current number of patients at the centre is 71 and there’s a need to visit, encourage and assist them.
During the occasion, some women were also recognized for the quality services rendered the University.
