The competition was originally scheduled to take place in December 2020, but later on got moved to a later date due to covid-19.

It has now been rescheduled to happen from June 10-20 at the Yaoundé Multi-purpose Complex.

The draw will be marked by the visit of the delegation of the African Handball Federation, which will be led by its Guinean born president, Mansourou Aremou. The delegation has been in Cameroon for a few days now and has been inspecting the structures that will be hosting the tournament.
