Yaounde: Dozens of women arrested over non-possession of Identity Cards released

Over thirty women who were this morning arrested over non-possession of Identity Cards in Efoulan, a neighborhood in Yaounde, Center Region of Cameroon have regained their freedom.

Majority of those arrested were taken by surprise, MMI has learned.

“One of the women had just left her home to buy an item at a nearby store when she was picked up,” a source told an MMI reporter.

Security forces had taken to the police station, compelling them to pay a fee before regaining their freedom.
