Media reports have confirmed that Jenny Yemimah has been arrested by the forces of law and order and is currently being detained at the Secretariat of State for Defence (SED).
The suspect had been on the run after allegedly poisoning her friend, Therese Ngo Ebog at the Mvog-Betsi neighborhood in Yaoundé and stealing her phone.
Asked about her motive for the malicious action, it was realized it had been due to jealousy. Therese Ngo, as narrated by her murderous friend, had been used to grabbing all the attention when they were out.
“When we walk together, it’s always her that the boys watch… I don’t know what she had extra that I don’t have… A boy even gifted her an iPhone. Who is she to have all those and I not?” She told the law enforcement agents.
Revelations from the deceased’s relatives say the girl who poisoned Therese, also stabbed her when she realized the poison’s effects were not happening as fast as she wanted.
“When she realized Therese was taking time to die, she grabbed a knife and stabbed her…,” her relative narrated in an audiotape.
While in deep pain, her relative also revealed that she managed to take a snapshot of what her friend was doing to her and succeeded to send it to one of her contacts.
“When her friend realized this, she seized her phone and fled out of the room…,” the relative narrated.
Therese Ngo Ebog was rushed to the Yaoundé Central Hospital by her neighbors, but she, unfortunately, died before she could get any medical attention.
