Yaounde: Man dies fighting over girlfriend on Women’s Day

An unidentified man died while fighting over a woman at Nguila neighborhood in Yaounde on March 8, as the world celebrated Women’s Day.

He was pierced to death with a knife by another man with whom he was sharing the same woman.

Eyewitnesses said the two men picked up a fight after clashing in their attempts to patronize the woman on Women’s Day.

“This guy lost his Life on the 8th of March, 2023, over a fight with another man over a lady,” an eyewitness told MMI.

“He was knifed by his opponent and he died immediately,” he added.

Reports say the woman, who is yet to be identified, had a love affair with both men who all wanted to be with her on Women’s Day.

Talking about the man who died, the eyewitness said, “The lady was his girlfriend and he never knew the girl had another boyfriend”

The killer reportedly tried to escape but was napped by the police around Batchanga neighborhood in Yaounde.

He is reportedly under custody for further investigations.
