The body of a six-year-old boy has been recovered in an abandoned building in Mvan, a neighborhood in Yaoundé, Cameroon’s political city.
The corpse was recovered over the weekend, following the kid’s disappearance.
A report in the Guardian Post Newspaper says the body of the boy was found some days after his parents had declared him missing.
The child had left for school on the day of his disappearance, and never returned home, sources have confirmed.
“Neither his friends nor his school administrators could tell his whereabouts after he left school for home,” confirms another source.
Meantime, the body has been handed over to the family for burial.
An investigation has been opened to establish the cause of the boy’s death.
Inhabitants of this same neighborhood say this is not the first time such an incident has occured. Two other corpses are also believed to have been discovered in a garbage bin weeks before the 6-year-old boy was killed.
